Gratitude in Action: Danos GIVES and Belly Buddies

At Danos, giving back is more than a commitment—it’s a reflection of who we are. Through Danos GIVES, we are proud to support organizations that are creating meaningful change in the communities we call home. One of those impactful partners is Belly Buddies.

Each week, Belly Buddies provides elementary school children with food to take home for the weekend, ensuring they have access to meals when school resources are not available. Every Friday, students receive “belly bags” filled with kid-friendly, non-perishable items like canned ravioli, pasta, fruit, cereal and breakfast bars. These meals are thoughtfully selected to be lightweight, easy to open and require no cooking, giving children independence while meeting a critical need.

When students return to school on Monday, they come back with more than just full backpacks; they return with a stronger, healthier foundation for learning. Belly Buddies’ goal is simple but powerful: to ensure children have consistent access to basic nutrition so they can be happier, healthier and ready to grow. What began in 2016, serving approximately 20 students in Eunice, LA, has grown significantly, providing about 720 food bags a month.

With a shared mission to care for others, Danos GIVES awarded a $15,000 grant to support Belly Buddies in their fight against childhood food insecurity. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a cause that directly impacts children and families in such a powerful way. Together, we are helping build stronger communities and brighter futures, one child at a time.
