Last month, John Paul Short, son of Greg Short, Danos operations manager of Shale Production, and grandson of David Short, Danos operations supervisor, took on the role of "Boss for the Day" at the Danos headquarters office. The unique experience was one of many items listed in the November 2024 Danos Foundation online silent auction.
On The Agenda
John Paul's busy morning schedule began meeting with Eric Danos, the owner and CEO of Danos Ventures. He participated in a VR training session with Competency Assurance Specialist Eric Martin and met with Safety Specialist Kelvin Billiot. Following his meeting with Michael Guidry, GM production services and Foundation vice chair, John Paul attended a virtual meeting with Andy Claerr, senior VP of business development. He then received a tour of the headquarters office, led by HR Project Manager Avie Fontenot before proceeding to his lunch meeting with the owners, Hank, Eric, Paul and Mark.
In the afternoon, John Paul had a meeting Nicole Williams, brand services manager, and met with VP of acquisitions James Callahan. After attending part of an executive team meeting, he had individual meetings with Mark Danos, owner and CEO of Danos Family Investments, and Hank Danos, owner and Chairman of the Board.
He was also able to meet with Reed Peré, president of Danos Operations Services, and Jon Boudreaux, president of Performance Energy Services. John Paul wrapped up his “Boss for the Day” experience by meeting with Danos owner and CEO Paul Danos.

More Than a Prize
The "Boss for the Day" experience was more than just an auction item win. In addition to the team getting to learn more about him, John Paul was able to gain insight from those he met on their areas of business, as well as what the Danos purpose, vision, values, and high performance culture traits mean to them and how they impact their areas of business.
Greg Short said, “Danos has been a significant part of my life for many years. The experience was truly priceless, offering him a glimpse into the work we do and the values of our company. It was a special moment to share with him, as it allowed him to see how Danos helps provide for our family and the pride we take in being part of such a great organization. Thank you to the Danos family and the Danos Foundation for this opportunity.”
