More Than Giving: Building Trust Through Stewardship

In 2017, my life was turned upside down when Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. I lost my home and my car - everything felt uncertain and overwhelming. For the first time, I found myself not just helping others but needing help myself.
That’s when Danos stepped in. Funds through Danos CARES provided immediate financial support that allowed me to take care of essential needs and begin the long process of rebuilding. That support felt like a warm hug—a reminder that I wasn’t alone.
I’ve always been on the giving side of charity, but receiving that help opened my eyes to just how powerful and personal that generosity can be. That’s why I continue to donate to the Danos Foundation and Danos CARES today—to pay it forward and ensure others feel that same support in their time of need.
Stewardship refers to the responsible management and care of the resources, relationships, and mission of an organization. It’s about honoring the trust that donors, volunteers, and the community place in the organization to make a meaningful impact. At its heart, stewardship is about treating every donation, whether money, time, or effort—as a gift that deserves respect and thoughtful use.
At its core, charity is about compassion, empathy, and a desire to ease someone else’s burden. For many, including you, charity is more than a gesture—it’s a shared human connection. It’s recognizing someone else’s struggle and saying, “You’re not alone.”
Stay connected as we continue to update you on the impact that your generosity is making within our internal community at work and throughout the communities where we work and live.
