Caring for Our Communities

Care for others. This seems simple. Treating each other with kindness and compassion is what the Danos Foundation is all about. Through GIVES, we are able to care for others in the communities where we live and work. This year, GIVES awarded $280,000 in grants to 14 nonprofit organizations in Louisiana and Texas that are caring for others in a BIG way.
I now present the 14 wonderful recipients:Bags of Hope received $25,000 to support their weekly food distribution of nonperishable foods to children in Terrebonne Parish. They serve an average of 200 children per week.
Bill’s Backpacks received $5,000 for their Feeding the Future project. Our funds will provide meal boxes to 245 students in Levelland, Texas, over their nine-day spring break holiday.
Bless Your Heart Non-Profit received $30,000 to support their South Lafourche Feeder School Pantries Project. Our funds will stock pantries at lower Lafourche Parish schools with nonperishable food items and hygiene products for children in need.
Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana received $10,000 to provide their staff with Trust Based Relations Intervention training which is critical to supporting the students who attend their programs daily.
Bynum School received $5,500 to assists with transportation costs for their job training program for students with disabilities in and around Midland, Texas.
CASA of Terrebonne received $12,500 to support recruiting and training CASA volunteers here in Terrebonne Parish.
Dulac Community Center received $5,000 to support their monthly food distribution in the Dulac community. Our funds will supplement the food boxes with fresh items such and milk and bread.
The Houston Furniture Bank received $20,000 to support their No Kids on the Floor Program. Our funds will provide 100 sets of mattresses for children.
Hope’s Path received $50,000 to support their Tiny Homes Project. These homes provide an environment to learn independent living skills for men who have aged out of the foster care system in and around Spring, Texas.
Permian Basin Mission Center received $30,000 to support their weekly food distribution project. Our funds will help to augment the rising costs of food and the increased need in the community.
Skill Point Alliance Permian Basin received $25,000 for their Reskilling and Upskilling Vulnerable and Disadvantaged West Texans project. Our funds will provide 60 adults with technical training required to enter the workforce.
Second Harvest Foodbank received $25,000 to support their Fighting Hunger in the Bayou Region project.
St. Francis Vegetable Garden received $22,000 to support their Pop-Up Produce Project in Raceland, LA.
The Life of a Single Mom received $15,000 to support their Single Mom University Project. Our funds will enroll 75 mothers in the program. This is available to any Danos employee or friends of Danos employees.These organizations are living our values of Generosity, Compassion, Service and Commitment. We are proud to partner with each of them as they solve big challenges in our communities.
